Amy's Bio
Amy Clark Kleinpeter began her law career with two goals - fighting injustice and providing the highest quality work to her clients. Amy now focuses her practice on civil litigation and personal bankruptcy, counseling clients who are looking for a fresh economic start, out from under the heavy encumbrance of debt-collectors. Amy has honed her skills and proficiency in both bankruptcy and litigation with extensive experience in pretrial advocacy, alternative dispute resolution, and jury trials. She has also provided pro bono advice at the Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Clinic at the Free Legal Clinic of Los Angeles.
Amy Kleinpeter has extensive experience in the areas of employment and housing law. She has successfully represented Plaintiffs against employers both large and small. She has ensured that disabled tenants were provided accommodations and has helped mentally disabled renters maintain their housing in the face of discrimination.
After graduating from University of Southern California Law School, Amy Kleinpeter was admitted to the bar in 2002 and is licensed to practice in California, U.S. District Court, Central District of California and U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit; she is also barred in Texas. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Hiram College in 1992 and got her Masters at the University of California, Riverside in 1994. After teaching community college for several years, Amy Kleinpeter realized her true calling was in helping people preserve their rights through the legal system. At USC, Amy Kleinpeter was a production editor of the University of Southern California Review of Law & Women's Studies and a board member of the Public Interest Law Foundation.
Her peers nominated Amy Kleinpeter as a "Rising Star of Southern California" in both 2005 and 2006. She is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Los Angeles County and American Bar Associations and the American Association for Justice.
