YES!

The federal law governing how bankruptcies occur and which TYPE of bankruptcy people can file changed in October 2005. This law did make bankruptcy more complicated and unfortunately, some people who could have filed on their own without an attorney now require the services of a bankruptcy attorney to make sure they do not lose their chance at a fresh start.
